Enhancing Lives of Aging Adults

The Prospect Senior Center encourages and promotes health and wellness to ensure a better quality of life, helps to establish local programs that serve aging adults and offer assistance to help enrich and enhance lives of those in our community.

The staff at the Prospect Senior Center works hard to provide programs and activities that support life-long learning, social outlets and community integration for residents of Prospect as well as our neighboring towns.

It is our goal to improve the life of senior adults and ensure they achieve personal satisfaction while enjoying life's challenges, opportunities and adventures.

Senior Center Resources

The Prospect Senior Center provides various services and resources to area Seniors from helping with Energy Assistance Programs to helping to educate Seniors on healthy living habits.


Connecticut Conference of Municipalities

Cards will be mailed to all residents on Friday January 27th, 2023, and extras will be mailed to Town Hall for disbursement to Town Hall, Library, and Senior Center.


The information gathered is used by the health department to get grants so we can address identified issues

ENERGY ASSISTANCE

Energy Assistance Programs are available to Seniors in the State of Connecticut that qualify. The Senior Center can assist Seniors in determining paperwork and documents needed to apply for Energy Assistance. For more information, visit the State of Connecticut Energy Assistance Information.   The Town of Prospect's Assistance Coordinator can be contacted at 203-758-4461.

AARP SAFE DRIVING CLASSES

The Prospect Senior Center hosts Safe Driving Classes sponsored by AARP. These classes typically run on Mondays at the Center from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Members and Non-members may register for the class. Please contact the Senior Center for information on the next session of classes.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS

Blood Pressure Screenings are help on Wednesdays at the Prospect Senior Center from noon to 2:00 PM.  There is no cost to Seniors to have this service provided.

Senior Center Transportation

There are a variety of transportation options available to Seniors in Prospect.

Prospect Mini Bus

The Prospect Mini Bus is available to pick up and drop off residents of Prospect and bring them to doctors appointments, hair appointments, shopping on certain days and other appointments that may arise. Please contact the Senior Center for scheduling information and other inquiries on daily scheduled pick ups and stops.

Greater Waterbury Transit District

Free Dial-A-Ride Transportation is also available to Seniors in Prospect.  This program allows disabled residents and senior citizens age 60 and over the opportunity to go shopping, make medical appointments and visit other locations within the region's coverage area in Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Prospect, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown and Wolcott.
